In REVENGE, players must confront the minions of a living computer virus gone mad as they gather resources and navigate challenges in a cooperative PvE environment. Featuring a blend of intense action and strategic planning, each match is further enhanced by spectators who can provide strategic aid or unpredictable elements, influencing the game's outcome in real-time and adding a layer of collaborative excitement.
THE STORY OF REVENGE
On New Year’s Eve, 2181, a massive volcano in Antarctica erupted, triggering other seismic and volcanic events across the globe. Category 5 hurricanes of acid rain destroyed crops and poisoned vast swaths of the water supply as smoke and ash spread through the atmosphere, blocking out the sun. Ancient viruses and bacteria, long contained deep within the ice of the antarctic, ran rampant across the weakened world.
The few survivors of the intial Collapse were driven into bunkers below the ground, where it seemed they were doomed to a lonely death… until the Everreach came online.
Created by a group known as the Ark, the Everreach is a thriving, virtual landscape where the isolated citizens of different bunkers -- called Reachers -- can connect with each other and access the vast repository of knowledge from the world as it was so they can figure out how to rebuild the world as it should be. The Everreach is humanity’s last hope. But Reachers aren't the only ones who've made a new home there...
A sentient computer virus calling itself MARA has infiltrated the fabirc of the Everreach, gobbling up the information stored there and twisting entire areas of this utopian zone into a surreal nightmare. To kill her would mean scrapping the entire system, isolating humanity once more and losing centuries of advances in science, medicine, technology, and culture. So, in a last desperate move, the creator of the Everreach trapped MARA in a quarantine zone. And while the walls of her virtual prison are holding for now, they won't be for long.
Before MARA can escape, the Reaches need to navigate through the distorted wastelands of her virtual prison and retrieve the information and resources that she’s isolated from the Everreach. Along the way, they’ll also uncover clues about her mysterious origins so they can figure out where she came from – and how to banish her – before she’s able to destroy the Everreach for good.
